2019-02-18 Recall: Mister Choc – Choco & Caramel Bars (sold at Lidl)

The following notice has been issued by the Food Standards Agency:

Lidl is recalling Mister Choc Choco & Caramel Bars, six-pack because some bars have been packed in incorrect packaging. Some packets labelled as Choco & Caramel bars may contain Caramel Peanut Bars which contain peanuts which are not mentioned on the label. This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to peanuts.

Action taken by the company

Lidl is recalling the above product from customers and has been advised to contact the relevant allergy support organisations, which will tell their members about the recall. The company has also issued a point-of-sale notice to its customers. These notices explain to customers why the product is being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought the product.

Our advice to consumers

If you have bought the above product and have an allergy to peanuts, do not eat it. Instead return it to the store from where it was purchased for a full refund.

Citizens Advice Ipswich Outreach Adviser

Hours: 3 full days (7.5 hours) per week. (Part-time)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for two Generalist Advisers to join Citizens Advice Ipswich’s new ‘Connect for Health’ team, which will be providing generalist advice to clients through appointments in General Practitioners surgeries throughout the Ipswich area. The roles will be based in the Ipswich area and report to the Outreach Manager.

As an Outreach Adviser you will be working in GP surgeries throughout Ipswich, providing advice, help and support to clients referred to you by medical professionals. You will be part of an emerging team and will have the opportunity to help shape the new service provision ensuring that the high standards of Citizens Advice and our values and aims are delivered in a timely manner.

You will be a confident, self-driven and self-motivated individual with recent experience as a trained generalist adviser or have the ability to undertake intensive training to reach the required standard within minimum timescales. You will have excellent communication skills and be able to self-manage your workload and time. You will have a passion for making a difference in the communities where we have a presence by providing a top quality service for the people of Ipswich.

As a precautionary measure we are recalling the above product and date codes as they require a ‘May Contain Sesame’ declaration which is not on the packaging.

Any customers who have an allergy to sesame should not consume this product and return to Real Handful for a full refund. No other Real Handful Choc Orange Chase date codes are affected by this recall.

Connect for Health

Today Sally Oakley from Ipswich Citizens Advice commenced the first GP outreach service at Burlington Road Surgery. This is part of the CCG’s Social Prescribing Project called ‘Connect for Health’. Citizens Advice Ipswich will be placing an Adviser in every GP surgery throughout the Ipswich area during 2019. Appointments will be made via the surgery for the day (s) that an Adviser is present for help and support with the problems they are facing. Citizens Advice will also be providing a Community Connector who will provide extra help to improve people’s lives.
