Vacancy – Various Adviser Roles

We are pleased to announce that Citizens Advice Ipswich are currently recruiting to expand our large vibrant team, due to increased demands on our services.

Exciting opportunities have risen in several areas of the charity’s work:

  • We are looking for Generalist Advisers to provide support and guidance to the people in our local community through face to face, telephone and email channels.
  • We are looking for Community Advisers to join the Social Prescribing Connect for Health Team, working in partnership with GP surgeries and health care professionals throughout the Ipswich area
  • We are looking for Money Advisers to join the team that provides support and guidance to those in financial hardship

All posts are paid positions to complement our team of volunteers and will initially be on a 12 month fixed-term basis subject to funding.

You will be provided with full training for any role undertaken and encouraged to develop your skills and knowledge in a supportive, team environment. Once trained you will be undertaking rewarding work that makes a real difference to the people within our community.

Vacancy – Trainee Money Adviser / Debt Caseworker

Citizens Advice Ipswich

Contract:                   Initial 12-month contract

Salary:                        Negotiable depending on accreditation and experience

Hours:                         Up to 37.5 hours per week (PT or Job share considered)

Ipswich Citizens Advice is looking for an enthusiastic and well organised Money Adviser/ Debt Caseworker trainee to join our expanding Money Advice Team.

 

The successful candidate will be supported to provide an in-depth casework service to the organisation’s clients working face to face as well as by telephone. You will therefore need a good working knowledge of money and debt advice, the ability to prioritise cases efficiently and the ability to work as part of a team.

 

Ideally, you will have a background in financial matters although this is not essential it is expected you will have reasonable experience to enable you to work towards achieving accredited Money Adviser status.

Vacancy: Energy Project Adviser

Contract: Initial 12 month Fixed term (Subject to funding)

Salary:
£16,604 – £18,278 – pro rata depending on experience

Hours: 14 – 21 hours per week (Negotiable over 2-4 days)

Ipswich Citizens Advice is looking for a well organised Energy Project Adviser to join our rapidly expanding Money Advice Services Team.

The post holder will carry out (predominantly) telephone based energy assessments and provide advice to clients who are referred to us by our partner organisation. This work may include tasks such as identifying grants, arranging specialist appointments, helping them to switch supplier or tariffs.

A clear and confident telephone manner is essential for this role and, although not essential, it would be preferable for the post holder to have some knowledge or experience in the areas of either energy, money, debt, welfare, advice, law, housing, or benefits.

The post holder will also receive recognised training, support and supervision to enable them to provide more in-depth casework and advice to our clients as the project demands.

Ipswich Citizens Advice is looking for a well organised Project Administrator for the ‘Surviving Winter’ Grants Project run by Suffolk and the East Anglian Daily Times.

The post holder will carry out coordination and collation of grant applications received, contact applicants, update and maintain records, prepare applications for payment.

We are looking for an organised person with a clear and confident telephone manner, and competent using a computer and experience of using Excel spreadsheets.
