Housing & Employment Advice

Michael John
Specialist Housing & Employment Adviser

Both Housing and Employment rights are based on complex areas of law, which are being reviewed.  Some landlords and employers are using powers to take action before they lose the power to do so and this means an increase in cases needing support so the need for a specialist role was identified.

From the beginning of April our new Housing and Employment Specialist Adviser, Michael, is supporting and resolving complex cases, advising clients and undertaking specialist representation where necessary.

Michael says: “In all cases, a client with employment or housing problems should contact Adviceline or use our webform to ask for help.  Then a referral to this specialist service will be considered”.

Michael will also start training to do the Court desk at Ipswich County Court (mainly advising those at risk of homelessness because of eviction) in the near future.
