Who we are
Ipswich and District Citizens Advice is an independent local charity Established in 1974. We have been delivering free, independent confidential quality assured advice and support for over 50 years and we are a member of the National Citizens Advice network.
We work closely with key partners and stakeholders to support the local community with their social and economic needs.
Core Values and Principles
- Impartiality and Independence We are independent, ensuring that all clients receive unbiased advice regardless of their background or circumstances. We prioritise the needs of marginalised groups and work to remove barriers to access.
- Diversity and Equality We value diversity and actively promote equality, challenging discrimination in all forms. We design our services to be inclusive and accessible to everyone, regardless of ability, age, gender, race, or social status.
- Trust and Integrity We aim to build trust with clients by delivering quality advice and achieving positive outcomes. We emphasise working with integrity and respect, so that clients feel valued and supported.
- Community Engagement We recognise the importance of understanding local issues and working closely with community organisations. We aim to influence social policy and advocate for positive change based on our clients’ stories.
- Continuous Improvement We are committed to learning and development, continuously seeking to improve our services and adapt to the changing needs of the community. We act on feedback to enhance our performance and address any shortcomings.
Mission Statement
- Citizens Advice campaigns for a society where everyone can realise their rights and responsibilities, and where services are accessible to those who need them. We strive to sort out problems collaboratively and effectively, ensuring that the most vulnerable members of society are considered in decision-making processes.
By keeping to these values, we aim to empower individuals, foster community resilience, and contribute to a fairer society for all.
As a charity, we have charitable aims which are to promote any charitable purpose for the public benefit by the advancement of education, the protection and preservation of health and the relief of poverty, sickness and distress in particular, but without limitation, for the benefit of the community in Ipswich and surrounding areas.
