Chair of Trustee Board

Make a difference – Chair of Trustees sought by Citizens Advice Ipswich

Following the very sad death of our Chair, Cllr Sophie Meudec, we are looking for a strategically thinking, enthusiastic person with senior management experience and a passion for the voluntary sector to take on the role Chair of the Trustee Board. We have an excellent board of trustees with a wide range of experience, many holding specific portfolios.

The Trustee Board gives strategic direction to the charity, which has to be increasingly more business minded, while retaining focused on our aims and purpose. The governance role of the trustee board, supports the management team, acts as employer for paid staff, ensures the charity complies with relevant law and oversees the finances. For this to happen successfully we have Trustees with individual portfolio responsibility (where appropriate) we are looking to bolster this with an intake of new Board Members.

The Board mostly meets in the evening which allows us to fit in volunteering around full or part time work.

Vice Chair, David Podd says: “Sitting on a Trustee Board can be excellent experience if you want to work for a charity. If you are experienced in strategic management or have other specialist skills then we would welcome an application from you to become part of the team that steers Citizens Advice Ipswich to deliver the crucial service that we provide here.”
