Energy Advice Helpline to boost income maximisation support from Citizens Advice Ipswich
Citizens Advice Ipswich is proud to be joining a scheme funded by UK Power Networks to reduce fuel poverty across the East of England by offering tailored energy advice.
Citizens Advice Ipswich joins four not-for-profit and social impact organisations; the National Energy Foundation, We Are Group, Citizens Advice Essex and Citizens Advice Arun & Chichester, to work with UK Power Networks towards its aim to help the most vulnerable people it delivers power to.
Trained energy advisers will offer clients personalised energy advice, support with smart meters, guidance on tariffs and time-of-use benefits, help accessing emergency funds and grants, and practical advice on improving energy efficiency at home. The service can be reached via a single telephone number 0808 189 6550.
This new service offers a direct line for help with energy costs and anyone needing additional support can then access the wider service offer provided by income maximisation case workers at Citizens Advice Ipswich funded by The Cadent Foundation.
Nicky Willshere, Citizens Advice Ipswich CEO, said: “We are delighted to join this partnership which will extend energy support for households across the region to reduce their energy costs, improve their homes and gain the confidence to manage their energy needs effectively. We’re excited to join forces with UK Power Networks to create a more equitable, sustainable future for all.”
Matt White, head of customer service and innovation for UK Power Networks, said: “We don’t set energy bills but we do recognise the significant challenges that fuel poverty presents for our customers, so we are excited to be partnering with organisations that share our vision of a fairer, more sustainable energy future.”
